The 2008-09 San Ramon Valley Business/Education Roundtable Student Recognition Project is an opportunity to recognize hundreds of high school students in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. The students compete in any of 21 categories that showcase their skills both within and outside the curriculum. Project judging is done by professional business people with extensive expertise in the various categories. The program is coordinated by the San Ramon Valley Business and Education Roundtable. The purpose of the program is to create collaboration among students, educators and the business community in the San Ramon Valley, to promote educational excellence and to prepare students for the business world of the 21st century. Categories include: Acting, Applied Design, Architecture, Computer Aided Drafting, Community Service, Creative Writing, Culinary Arts, Dance, Entrepreneur, Fashion Design, Financial Planning/Investment, Journalism, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Photography (Digital and Film), Robotics, Science and Technology, Video Production, Visual Arts and Web Design. All projects are displayed at the Open House event in March, and winning projects are recognized at the Gala Breakfast in April. Mission The Business and Education Roundtable Student Recognition Project seeks to create a partnership among students, educators and the business community to promote educational excellence and to prepare students for the business world of the 21st Century. The program encourages students across the curriculum to make practical application of knowledge, skills and processes in projects that are useful and meaningful.
