The San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs’ annual parent education conference specializes in topics and information related to children in preschool through high school and targets parents, educators and community members.

This year’s conference features a keynote address by Michele Borba, who will be speak on “Empathy: The Best Antidote for Bullying and Lessons for Success in the Digital Age,” and introduce her latest book, UnSelfie, which gives 9 proven and teachable habits to nurture children’s empathy and why developing empathy is key predictor to help kids succeed in our global, digital-driven world. As an expert recognized internationally for her work in bullying prevention and character education, Michele’s work aims to help strengthen children’s character and resilience, build strong families, create compassionate and just school cultures, and reduce peer cruelty. She has appeared on the Today Show, CNN, and The View among others to share her expertise.
Your conference registration also includes selection of one morning and one afternoon small-group seminar, continental breakfast and lunch. Seminar topics include executive functioning, family dynamics, nutrition for healthy sleep and stress reduction, manifesting mindfulness as kindfulness, drug abuse & trends among teens, online safety, raising children with special needs, college planning and funding, tools to guide the gifted child, multicultural parenting, and many others.
