Profile of the Learner Committee

The San Ramon Valley Unified School District will be embarking on district-wide Campus Master Plans and Educational Specifications "design guidelines" to use as a strategic road map for our future, creating a Facilities Master Plan. A master plan is a dynamic long-term planning document that provides a visionary site plan to guide future expansion and as a communication tool for expressing the vision for our campuses.

Never doubt that a group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.

Profile of the Learner Committee:
As part of the District's Strategic Directions, the district seeks to engage the broader community to define the competencies of a student in SRVUSD though a design process that seeks to clarify what the community desires for all students:

  • What are the hopes, dreams, and aspirations that our community has for its students?
  • What are the skills and mindsets our children need for success in this rapidly changing, complex world?
  • What are the implications for the design of the learning experiences—and equitable access to those experiences—we provide in our school systems?

Our Profile of a Learner design process engages the education system and the broader community—educators, students, elected officials, community members, parents/caregivers— to help us build a unifying, collective vision for SRVUSD students. Bringing together these diverse perspectives is essential for enduring educational transformation.
