The following positions will be eligible for a hiring incentive:
- Kitchen Assistant: On-site Kitchen, Receiving Kitchen, Production Kitchen
- Lead Kitchen Assistant; Lead Kitchen Assitant Production Kitchen
- Child Nutrition Manager; Child Nutrition Manager II
- Special Education Paraeducator
- Autism Specialist Paraeducator
- School Bus Driver
- School Bus Driver, Delegated Behind the Wheel Trainer
- Transportation Vehicle Driver
The Hiring Incentive is for new employees only, defined as not being employed with SRVUSD in any capacity in the past six (6) months. However, a current substitute hired for a permanent position would be eligible. This is subject to approval by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources; however, final approval would not be reasonably withheld.
The Hiring Incentive is $1,500 (minus taxes and statutory deductions), payable in three (3) installments. The first installment of $500 will be paid in the first regular payroll period of employment with the District. The second installment of $500 will be paid after successful completion of the new employee’s probationary period. The third installment of $500 will be paid when the employee completes one full calendar year of employment.
The maximum number of Hiring Incentives offered shall not exceed:
- For Child Nutrition positions: fifty (50) positions
- For Paraeducator: fifty (50) positions
- For Drivers: twenty (20) positions
The Hiring Incentive program ends December 31, 2023.
