Reopening Update 11/16/2020
Posted 11/16/20

Governor Newsom held a press conference earlier this afternoon in which he announced the backwards movement of several counties to a more restrictive tier, effective tomorrow, Tuesday November 17, 2020.  Contra Costa County was included in that group and will revert to the purple, or most restrictive tier, on the State’s Blueprint for reducing COVID-19.

At this time, SRVUSD's plan to reopen schools is not being impacted. In light of the fact that we were set and prepared to reopen, in consultation with Dr. Farnitano, we are being allowed to proceed with Phase 2 of our reopening plan, on schedule. Our SDC and ELL and Intervention students will be returning to campus tomorrow, Tuesday, November 17th as planned. Nothing has changed.

We are monitoring the situation closely and we will work closely with our Board and community on future plans. For now, we will proceed as planned, with our safety precautions in place, and will strictly enforce those precautions on our campuses for the protection of everyone. Per the guidelines when in the purple tier, we will be increasing surveillance testing of staff.
