Student Board Member



In order to provide student input and involvement, the Board shall include one student board member selected in accordance with procedures approved by the Board.

The SRVUSD Board of Education believes in the power of the student voice and that it is important to seek out and consider students' ideas, viewpoints and reactions. In order to amplify the student voice and provide an opportunity for an SRVUSD high school student, the SRVUSD Board of Education is engaged in the process of identifying a student board member.

Recommended Criteria:

  • 11th & 12th graders
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Community Involvement
  • Communicative Skills
  • Ability to Commit to the Responsibilities of the Position
2022-2023 Student Board Member

To apply, please submit a letter of recommendation and the completed Informed K12 Student Board Member application to Tami Castelluccio no later than April 22, 2022.  

  • Application opens on Monday, April 11
  • Application closes on Friday, April 22
  • Candidates selected to move onto the interview process will be notified Thursday, April 28
  • Candidates selected to the interview process will prepare a 3 minute presentation, slides optional and be prepared to present at the Student Senate meeting on Monday, May 2 beginning at 4:35pm at Monte Vista High School Room 118
  • Interviews will take place the week of May 2nd
  • Final decision made the week of May 9th

Ronit Batra

SRVUSD Student Board Member

Ronit Batra is a senior at Monte Vista High School in Danville, CA and the first student board member of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. As a member of the district board of education, he serves as a liaison between the SRVUSD student body of over 30,000 students and the school board, advocating for the wants and needs of K-12 students across the district.
