What to Expect

The district makes every effort to provide responsive records in a reasonable timeframe.

  • Upon receipt of a Public Records request, SRVUSD will respond within 10 days to acknowledge receipt of the request and advise as to the availability of disclosable documents in the district’s possession that are responsive to the request.
  • Requests received after business hours and on weekends will be considered received on the next business day.
  • In unusual circumstances, the 10-day period may be extended up to 14 days by providing written notice to the requester setting forth reasons for the extension and the date on which a determination is expected to be made.
  • If the district determines that disclosable public records exist, the determination will state the estimated date when the records will be made available.
  • Public records will be open to inspection during district office hours or can be provided in electronic format (see AR 1340).
  • The district may charge for copies of public records or other materials requested by individuals or groups.
