Interdistrict Transfers
Applying to SRVUSD (from another district)
If your student lives outside the SRVUSD boundaries, you must reuest an interdistrict transfer through your home (resident) school district.
Steps to apply:
- Contact your resident school district to request an interdistrict transfter to SRVUSD
- Your district will send the Interdistrict Transfer request form to SRVUSD for review.
- Submit the following documents to SRVUSD Student Services:
- Transcripts/grades
- Discipline records
- Attendance records
- Email to: intertransfers@srvusd.net or fax: 925-837-2605
Important:
- Keep your student enrolled in your resident district until you receive an official decision.
- Approval is based on space availability and review of records.School placement is determined by SRVUSD Student Services.
- You will be notified by email once a decision is made.
- After SRVUSD approval, you will receive a welcome email with nstructions to complete enrollment in SRVUSD.
Transfer Timelines
- First Monday in March: Applications open for the next school year
- May 1 - Renewal deadline for current transfer students.
Decision Timelines
- Current school year requests: Decision within 30 days.
- Next school year requests: Decision sent as soon as possible, no later than 14 days after the school year begins.
Annual Renewal
All interdistrict transfers must be renewed each spring to continue enrollment in SRVUSD.Please click here for important renewal information.
Transfers from SRVUSD to Another District
- Complete the Interdistrict Transfer Request for the appropriate school year
- Email the completed form to : intertransfers@srvusd.net
- SRVUSD will complete its portion and forward the request to the requested district
Appeals Process
If your transfer request is denied, you have the right to appeal:
- Follow the instructions in your denial letter and appeal to your resident school district
- If needed, appeal to your county office of education
- Final appeals can be made to the county board of education within 30 days of the denial
