Parcel Tax Information
Local Education Funding
Renewal Measure of 2015
Measure A - $144 Parcel Tax
Commencing July 1, 2016 for nine years
Since 2004, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District has been fortunate to receive generous support from the community through voter approved parcel tax measures. Parcel tax funding provides a local, secure, stable source of revenue that the District can count on every year. This money stays in our local schools and cannot be taken away by the State. This renewal measure continues to protect academic excellence in our schools by continuing the local funding our schools rely on every year.
The proceeds of Measure A shall be authorized to fund:
- Core academic programs in reading, writing, math and science;
- Advanced Placement courses and other programs to prepare all students for success in college and careers;
- Ongoing teacher training and development to attract and retain teachers;
- Career and technical training programs.
Measure A also includes the following accountability provisions:
- All money raised by the measure stay local
- An independent citizens oversight committee ensures all funds are spent as promised
- None of the funds can be used for administrators’ salaries
- Homeowners age 65 and older are eligible to receive an exemption
- The measure expires June 30, 2025 and cannot be renewed without voter approval
Fiscal Accountability & OversightThe Parcel Tax Oversight Committee (aka PTOC) was established by the Board of Education of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, pursuant to the passage of Measure "C" in 2009. The purpose this committee is to provide oversight that ensures parcel tax funds are applied only to authorized purposes as outlined in the Measure. The PTOC continues to monitor the expenditures of Measure "A" funds and reports annually to the Board and community on how these funds have been spent.
