Purpose

The purpose of the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is to improve and promote communication between schools, parents, and public agencies to increase community awareness, facilitate parent education and support, and coordinate activities on behalf of children with exceptional needs.

Members provide and assist in the development of parent information materials and awareness activities in our school district.  Membership is composed of school district board-appointed parents, educators, and district staff.  Topic presentations and/or meetings are held five times a year.  Meetings are open to the public and are followed by an opportunity to discuss specific parent concerns and issues.

BRIGHT LIGHTS

The SRVUSD SELPA Community Advisory Committee's Bright Lights Awards are designed to honor people who have made a positive impact on the lives of our students. We encourage you to nominate someone (in any of the eight categories) deserving of this award who goes 'above and beyond' to engage, educate, and empower students receiving special education services.  The winners of each category will be honored before the School Board Meeting on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.  Please submit nominations by Friday, April 14, 2023.  Thank you for taking the time to recognize someone who has made a difference in a student’s life.
