Social Work Services

San Ramon Valley Unified School District recognizes the diverse social challenges that can impact students' academic and emotional well-being. These challenges, often arising from changes within the family structure, can hinder a student's ability to learn and thrive.

To address these concerns, the district offers comprehensive School Social Work Services. Our trained mental health professionals hold degrees in social work and are dedicated to providing essential support. They serve as a vital link between home, school, and the community, offering direct and indirect services to students, families, and staff. Through personalized counseling, interventions, resource advocacy, and fostering personal growth and self-sufficiency, our School Social Workers aim to create a positive and supportive educational experience for all students.

Services to Students:

Providing crisis intervention
Developing intervention strategies to increase academic success
Assisting with conflict resolution and anger management
Helping students to develop appropriate social skills
Assisting students in understanding and accepting others
Counseling services either individually or in a group setting
Assisting in developing positive behavioral intervention strategies

Services to Parents/Families:

Working with parents to support their youth’s school adjustment
Assisting parents with referrals and linkages to community supports
Assisting parents in utilizing school and community resources
